How To Best Promote A Club / Dance Party the Most Effective way. Did you ever want to promote / throw a party at a dance club all by yourself and you were kind of nervous about it as you did not know if anyone would show up? … guess what, you are not the only one that has been worrying about that before.

The worst fear would be if you secured a location that could hold about 400-500 people and 50 people showed up… not only would You feel like a Complete failure…but the people that took the time to Dress Up and attend…would surely not be coming back again…. in this industry…you are ONLY as GOOD as your LAST Event/Party… NEVER forget that Golden Rule…

My name is Alf and I have been a party promoter for over 22 years in San Francisco, California. For me it all started out as a hobby… and I have had my ups and downs as well in the Party Promotion industry. It is not an easy thing to get 400 to 500 people to show up at a party… especially if you are starting out fresh. I will share some of the tricks and tips that I have learned over the years and hopefully, it will act as an inspiration and knowledge bank so that you can be successful as fast as possible.

One of the first things I learned is that you need to Invite the RIGHT CROWD to your event. If you end up getting the Wrong Crowd attending your party… meaning, guys and girls that are not dressing the way you would expect or even the wrong age group… you would quickly fail…
…what I did, I started out inviting my friends of friends to a party I wanted to do at small local bar that also had a dance floor. I was in college at that time so it was quite easy to find people that were looking for a Fun Party to be at…and I printed up some simple flyers (this was before the Social Media Craze even was around) so that people had something to refer to and pass along (also a key point in promoting).

The venue could hold about 250 ppl. and I felt it was a great match with what I felt I could manage. One of the first things I did was to “partner” with a good friend so that we could work as a TEAM…this was a KEY move as we had different circles of friends AND we were Both Really Fired Up about the party – another KEY factor in order to succeed…
Ask yourself: How Else could we succeed If WE WERE NOT EXCITED… We did not want to make this a theme party…but rather Come To Our Party and meet my Friends of Friends and let’s Dance and have a good time. Since I am from Norway, I invited all the other Norwegians and Scandinavians that I knew at my college and asked them to turn around to do the same – a KEY Promotion Trick as well… but what was even MORE important was to Get the person YOU talked with… Excited and On Fire about the party as well. Another thing I did was to contact the Norwegian Consulate in San Francisco to ask them if they would sponsor our party…and I “Billed the party” as Norway Meet Our USA Friends, and borrowed some HUGE Norwegian Flags that I put up inside the bar and they also sponsored me with $500 that I bought Norwegian Foods and Appetizers with… …..this was used as a BAIT to entice people to Come Early to the party…. and help me to Build The Momentum early on in the evening… as no one will go to a party that looks Empty or Half Dead when they look in through the windows or the door. …
