My Take On Goal Setting…. What is your?

Hey!

…boring topic you say?…. Really??, I say…well, it is kind of boring if you think about it… but “by Golly” how important it is.

According to research by psychologists Edwin Locke and Gary Lathan, the godfathers of goal-setting theory, they show you that a goal set in the right way can increase your Very Own Motivation by as much as 25%! …and let me “throw this one in here too”… without any Mo-Jo, Excitement… according to Einstein… without Enthusiasm, Passion and Energy… nothing “Good Comes Of It!”….or NOTHING happens until Suuumthing MOVES!…

SO MOVE!… Take the First STEP… Do SOMETHING…ANYTHING….

…ok….that was a lot of references… but I just had to.. To drive the point home… that you really must have Goals, some kind of Drive to at least “stear you in the right direction”, right? …so at least SHOOT For the Moon and if you miss it, you will still end up amongst the “stars out there”….somewhere.

If you think about it… we, humans, are goal-oriented creatures…. We think about, dream about, “wish about” things we would “like to have” or think “would be great to have” …and all these things…..right?… So why are so many of us NOT reaching our goals… why are we not achieving what we Dream about, Wish about, Think about?…

…to me…very, very often, it all comes down to habits… habits make up who you are… could you imagine even for a moment if you did not have any Habits?… habits “FORM” who you become… why not put some GREAT HABITS to use in your life to REACH YOUR GOALS.

Could you imagine that if you only improved 1% in your life each month… each week, or each day… improve 1% about what you are doing right now…what impact would that have on the final “destination/results”… I can assure you of this….. It would BLOW YOUR MIND.

So how would you start this process of creating GREAT HABITS? If you think about it this way… I am just going to do 1 “little thing, that 1%” every single day for the next 66 days… just one thing towards a SPECIFIC GOAL that I have… it does not have to be much… but I am going to do it for 66 days straight…even Saturdays and Sundays…

…and I can promise you that once you get started and keep on “moving each day”… just ONE little “thing”, that 1%, Each DAY… I am willing to BET that you will NOT believe where you will be in 66 days from now. Why 66 days? …just because there is something magical about doing it for OVER 2 months in a row… as I have seen habits form in my own life when I have done just that.

Analogy: How do you eat an Elephant?
… ONE BITE AT A TIME!
*Hopefully you don’t eat Elephant meat, …but just sayin’.

“Try it on for size” and let me know how you did.

TIP: Write down what you did in a Journal / digital or on paper, but paper is best…why? Just because I SAY SO… no, just kidding…. Because it helps CEMENT the habit in your mind better that way…"by putting PEN TO PAPER"… something Magical happens when you do this….just trust me on it..
